Rehaan Chowdhary launches financial literacy initiative for women in India
Rehaan Chowdhary, a 17-year-old student at Nord Anglia International School Dubai, has founded The Prosperity Project to improve financial education accessibility for women in India. The initiative has reached 420 learners across West Bengal and Maharashtra through specialized workshops.
Chowdhary developed a ten-module curriculum and textbook titled ‘Knowing Your Money’ to teach practical concepts such as budgeting, savings, borrowing, investments, digital payments, and emergency planning. The program also focuses on recognizing and preventing financial fraud.
The project began in Baruipur, West Bengal, in collaboration with Bandhan-Konnagar and with support from Bandhan Bank, later expanding to Asansol through partnerships with Bengal Shristi Infrastructure Development Limited and FEED.
