REI South Sulawesi regional meeting faces developer boycott and environmental initiatives

The Regional Consultative Meeting (Musda) V of the Real Estate Indonesia (REI) South Sulawesi branch is facing internal friction alongside environmental initiatives. Rezza Pratama Said, Vice Chairman of REI South Sulawesi, along with more than 100 member developer companies, has decided to boycott the 2026 Musda. This collective decision followed an evaluation of previous understandings and consolidation efforts involving the REI Honorary Council and national leadership.

In a separate development, PT Gowa Makassar Tourism Development Tbk (GMTD) is supporting the Musda through a “One Million Trees” planting program. GMTD has provided land in the Tanjung Bunga area, specifically the Gold Coast section, to facilitate the initiative. The program aims to increase green spaces in Makassar and promote environmental sustainability within the property industry.
