Reșița City Hall fragments salary payments due to financial pressure

Employees of the Reșița City Hall and its subordinate structures have reported receiving their August salaries in two installments or, in some cases, not receiving them at all. This departure from the standard practice of full, single-date payments has caused significant dissatisfaction among municipal staff.

Mayor Ioan Popa attributed the decision to fragment salary payments to intense financial pressure during September. The municipality faced approximately 2.7 million lei in obligations related to the issuance of green bonds and a 2014 ISPA credit. Additionally, the local administration had to manage two financial corrections imposed by the Ministry of Investments and European Projects due to delays in project implementation.
