Reșița launches 55 million lei modernization of Microraionul 3

The Reșița City Hall has officially handed over the site for the modernization of Microraionul 3 in the Govândari neighborhood to MBS Group, the contractor selected through a tender process. The urban regeneration project is valued at approximately 55 million lei (nearly 10 million euros) and is funded by the ADR Vest Development Fund.

The two-year project covers roughly 8.9 hectares and includes the reconstruction of streets, pedestrian paths, and building access points. Planned improvements feature new public lighting, green spaces, playgrounds, fitness zones, and a 20-meter diameter fountain with 48 water jets.

While the project aims to revitalize the area, Vice Mayor Daniel Călin noted that approximately 280 parking spaces will be lost during the works. To mitigate this, the municipality plans to utilize unallocated spaces in the Inelar area and develop new parking near the local Kaufland.
