Reichensachsen opens new 5.7 million euro fire station

The Reichensachsen volunteer fire department has officially inaugurated its new fire station, ‘Auf dem Bruche’. Completed at a cost of 5.7 million euros, the facility is designed to serve as a training center for the entire Werra-Meißner-Kreis.

The new station includes eight vehicle bays, a wash hall, workshop and storage areas, modern changing rooms, offices, and meeting rooms. It also features two large lecture halls capable of accommodating up to 60 participants. While the project was planned since 2017, initial cost estimates had risen as high as 8.2 million euros.
