Germany traffic accidents increase due to heavy rain

Heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions have caused a series of traffic accidents across several regions in Germany, resulting in multiple injuries and significant vehicle damage.

On the A5 motorway near Willstätt, heavy rain led to two separate accidents. A 28-year-old driver suffered serious injuries after his BMW lost control, struck a barrier, and collided with a Ford towing a caravan. A second accident involving a Skoda occurred in the same section, leaving the driver uninjured but causing property damage.

In Bavaria, intense rain triggered several incidents, including aquaplaning accidents on the A9, A92, and A93, as well as a vehicle rollover on the B307 in the Traunstein district. Additionally, two aquaplaning-related collisions occurred on the A3 near Nittendorf, causing injuries and substantial damage to vehicles and barriers.

Other reported incidents include a multi-vehicle frontal collision on the B29 near Bopfingen involving three cars, and a crash on the A6 near Reilingen caused by a blown tire, which resulted in minor injuries to two passengers. Local authorities also reported various other incidents, including a theft attempt and alcohol-related driving offenses in the Rems-Murr district.
