Reinas del Caribe named Sports Ambassadors by Mercado Magazine

The Dominican Republic women's national volleyball team, known as ‘Reinas del Caribe’, has been named ‘Sports Ambassadors’ by Mercado Magazine. The honor was presented during the ‘The Best of DR 2026’ ceremony held at Portazul in the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo.

The recognition follows the team's performance at the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, where they secured their seventh consecutive gold medal in the competition.

Milagros Cabral, former captain and current general director of the National Volleyball Selection Project, accepted the award on behalf of the athletes. She noted that the recognition is shared with the Dominican people for their support over more than two decades of international and national competition.
