Reinbek police investigate object thrown from bridge onto vehicle

Police in Reinbek are investigating a dangerous incident involving two children who allegedly threw an unknown object from the Bummereiweg bridge onto a moving vehicle on the K80 highway. The incident occurred on the evening of August 25, 2026, around 6:00 PM.

A 50-year-old driver reported that he observed two boys, estimated to be between eight and twelve years old, holding an object on the bridge. After passing the bridge, the driver heard a loud bang and discovered damage to his Volkswagen’s hood and windshield. No injuries were reported.

The two suspects reportedly fled the scene on an e-scooter, heading toward either Schlehenweg or Stormarnring in Glinde. The Reinbek police have opened an investigation into suspected dangerous interference with road traffic and are seeking witnesses who may have information regarding the identity of the children or the object used.
