Rejane Pauletti crosses Brazil‑Paraguay Integration Bridge

Brazilian engineer Rejane Pauletti became the first woman to walk across the new Integration Bridge (Ponte da Integração) that links Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, with Presidente Franco, Paraguay. She completed the crossing during a technical inspection before the structure’s official opening.

The 760‑metre cable‑stayed bridge, with a 470‑metre main span, is one of the largest of its type in Latin America. It is expected to ease traffic on the nearby Friendship Bridge and boost cross‑border trade for Mercosur nations once customs facilities and access roads are finished.

The inauguration will occur after the remaining access and customs works are completed, marking a symbolic milestone for female representation in large‑scale infrastructure projects in the region.
