Rejang Lebong (Indonesia) Prosecutor Leadership Change and Police Crackdown on Motorbike Gangs

The District Attorney’s Office (Kejari) in Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu Province, appointed Bohal Parlambohan Lubis as the new chief after Kiki Yonata was promoted to head the Musi Banyuasin office. The office continues to handle three alleged corruption cases involving the school operational assistance fund (BOS) at SMP Negeri 2 Rejang Lebong, the PDAM Tirta Bukit Kaba water utility, and a 2024 local election grant, with only the BOS case reaching the suspect‑identification stage.

Meanwhile, the Rejang Lebong Police Department stepped up security measures by intensifying patrols across 15 sub‑districts to deter motorbike gang activity and related clashes. Police chief AKBP Syahrul Hariady also created a rapid‑response unit (Unit Reaksi Cepat) and called on parents to closely monitor their children’s movements to prevent involvement in gang‑related incidents.
