Rejiche municipality launches beach cleaning campaign

The municipality of Rejiche is organizing a cleaning and awareness campaign on Rejiche beach on Thursday, August 13, 2026. Operating under the slogan ‘Acting to fight plastic pollution’, the initiative aims to preserve the coastline and educate citizens on environmental protection.

The event will begin at 6:30 a.m. in front of the ‘Maison des Felouques’. Participants include various civil society groups and youth organizations, such as the Rejiche Environment and Development Association, the Rejiche Local Council, the Tunisian Scouts (Rejiche section), the ‘Iqra’ Quranic Association, and the Rejiche Youth House.

Organizers intend to reduce various forms of pollution affecting the coast, specifically plastic waste, while fostering a culture of environmental responsibility among residents, summer visitors, and beach users.
