Rejowiec Fabryczny reports attempted cyberattack on water system

Mayor Gabriel Adamiec of Rejowiec Fabryczny has reported an attempted cyberattack targeting the city’s water intake control system. Authorities detected 10 unauthorized login attempts to the administrator panel used for remote management of the water distribution system.

All attempts to gain access were unsuccessful, and no changes to the water intake functionality or disruptions to the supply for residents were detected. Despite the lack of impact, the incident is being treated as a high priority due to the potential risks to public health and safety that a successful breach of critical infrastructure could pose.

In response, the city has increased physical security at strategic sites and secured technical evidence, including computer data and printouts. The incident has been reported to the police and CERT Polska, the national computer security incident response team.
