The Relay For Life Japan 2026 charity event, aimed at supporting cancer patients and promoting cancer eradication, featured various community activities.

In Niigata, the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Department of Niigata University of Health and Welfare participated in the event held at Niigata Prefectural Sports Park Canal Hiroba. Approximately 100 participants visited the university's “Cancer Cafe” booth, where 12 students and two faculty members provided demonstrations on acupressure and self-care techniques based on Oriental medicine.

Specialized sessions were also conducted by Professor Daichi Kasuya and Professor Sayuri Sakai from Niigata University to teach acupressure methods for pain relief. Participants reported benefits such as relief from headaches and shoulder stiffness, while students gained practical experience in applying their medical knowledge to community health support.
