Relay shuts down as CEO Jacob Bank joins Google Chrome

AI workflow automation startup Relay is shutting down its operations. Free tier users lost access to the platform on August 15, while paying customers will lose access on September 14.

Relay, which launched in 2021 with the ambition of becoming a major automation platform similar to Zapier, focused on using AI-driven agents to streamline repetitive office and project management tasks. The company's closure leaves businesses that relied on its services to manage document drafting and copyediting to find replacement solutions independently.

Following the shutdown, Relay founder and CEO Jacob Bank is joining the Google Chrome organization as Vice President of Product. Bank previously worked at Google for over six years, leading product efforts for Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Chat, prior to launching Relay.
