Release Athens Festival 2026 attracts over 280,000 fans in Athens

The 10th edition of the Release Athens Festival took place over 17 days at Plateia Nerou in Athens, drawing more than 280,000 attendees and confirming its status as the city’s premier summer music event. The lineup spanned alternative, electronic, rock, metal and pop, featuring international acts such as Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Moby, Thievery Corporation, Pet Shop Boys, Gorillaz, David Byrne, Jean‑Michel Jarre, Limp Bizkit, Pantera, Megadeth, The Offspring, Three Days Grace, Sabaton, Savatage and Helloween, alongside Greek performers Pauli Pavlidis, Pan Pan and Paidi Trauma.

Allwyn returned for a fourth consecutive year, operating a popular kiosk that offered a karaoke setup, a music‑themed photobooth and a VIP balcony with privileged stage views. The company also hosted a responsible‑gaming booth where festival‑goers could take part in a quick quiz and win souvenirs. The extensive program and interactive experiences contributed to the festival’s record attendance and its reputation as Greece’s largest summer music gathering.
