Reliance Industries faces stock volatility amid Jio Platforms IPO plans
Reliance Industries is navigating a period of market volatility and significant corporate restructuring. The company's share price has recently experienced marginal intraday fluctuations, trading within a narrow range amid subdued volumes. This follows a period of underperformance in 2026, where the stock has seen a decline of approximately 21%, resulting in a loss of roughly ₹4 lakh crore in market capitalization.
In a major strategic development, Jio Platforms, the parent company of India's largest telecom operator Reliance Jio, is expected to launch an Initial Public Offering (IPO). Reports suggest a potential price band of ₹1,350 to ₹1,450 per share, with an estimated IPO size of ₹37,700 crore. If successful, this would represent the largest IPO in the history of Indian stock exchanges. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has already granted approval for the IPO, which is anticipated to hit the exchanges in November, though official confirmation from Reliance Industries is still pending.
