Reliance Industries faces volatility across Alok Industries and main stock

Reliance Industries is facing market volatility across its holdings. Shares of Alok Industries, in which Reliance holds a 40.01 per cent stake, have hit a 52-week low after plunging 23 per cent in five sessions. The company recently reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 138.25 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, despite a 6.50 per cent year-on-year increase in revenue to Rs 993.11 crore. Stock exchanges BSE and NSE sought clarification regarding increased trading volumes at Alok Industries, to which the company responded that all required disclosures have been made.

Separately, Reliance Industries Ltd shares experienced a decline, trading at ₹1,271.90, a drop of 1.17 per cent. This movement is attributed to anticipated outflows from MSCI rebalancing, with the company projected to see an outflow of approximately $523 million due to a reduced weight in the MSCI India index. This follows a period where the conglomerate's valuation contributed to a broader market capitalization erosion among India's most-valued companies.
