Reliance Jio Announces AI‑Driven Satellite Internet and Personal Assistant Plans

At Reliance Industries' 49th annual general meeting on June 19, 2026, Jio chair Akash Ambani outlined a multi‑year technology roadmap. The company intends to build an Indian low‑earth‑orbit (LEO) satellite network for broadband services, supported by a domestic ground‑station infrastructure.

Jio will embed artificial intelligence into its mobile network, enabling AI to transcribe calls, identify participants, and automate tasks such as scheduling, ordering food or booking cabs. The MyJio app will evolve into a personal AI assistant that users can activate with a voice command.

Reliance also disclosed plans for a 120‑megawatt AI compute facility in Jamnagar, powered by renewable energy and equipped with NVIDIA GPUs. The platform will support AI services in 22 Indian languages and feed a suite of AI‑powered products for consumers, businesses, health, education and agriculture, including JioIndia IQ, JioHealth IQ and JioKrisri IQ.
