Reliance Jio expands JioPC cloud computing service to all Indian users

Reliance Jio has expanded its cloud-based computing service, JioPC, making it available as a standalone subscription to consumers across India. Previously restricted to JioHome broadband subscribers, the service can now be accessed by any user with an internet connection through a supported web browser, regardless of their service provider.

JioPC functions by streaming a virtual computer from Jio’s data centers to a user’s existing device, similar to how video streaming works. This allows older hardware—potentially up to eight years old—to access modern processing power, memory, and storage without physical upgrades. The service is designed to support work, education, content creation, and AI tools.

Available configurations include a standard plan with 8GB of RAM and 500GB of storage, and a JioPC Ultra plan offering 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Both options run on the Ubuntu Linux operating system. The standard annual plan is priced at approximately Rs 4,000, which averages to about Rs 11 per day.
