Reliance Jio Platforms appoints Pankaj Pawar as CEO ahead of record IPO
Reliance Jio Platforms announced the appointment of Pankaj Pawar as chief executive officer, replacing Kiran Thomas who resigned on March 23. Pawar, who also serves as managing director of Reliance Jio Infocomm, has been with the Reliance group since 2000 and brings nearly three decades of experience in telecom and digital services.
The leadership change comes as the company prepares an initial public offering expected to raise about 380 billion rupees (approximately $4 billion). The IPO could become the largest in Indian history, valuing Jio Platforms at roughly $137 billion. Mukesh Ambani will remain chairman of the board, while Akash Ambani will serve as managing director and Isha and Anant Ambani will continue as non‑executive directors.
