Reliance Jio rolls out AI Call Agent and upgraded MyJio AI concierge

Reliance Jio announced a suite of artificial‑intelligence services at its 49th Annual General Meeting, including the Jio Call Agent and a revamp of the MyJio app into an AI‑powered digital assistant. The Call Agent can be activated during a call by saying “Hey Jio,” transcribes conversations in real time across multiple Indian languages, identifies up to ten speakers, generates summaries, action points and reminders, and can perform tasks such as booking cabs, ordering food, or scheduling meetings without leaving the call interface. The service will be available to all Jio subscribers—more than 500 million users—later this year.

The MyJio app has been transformed into a personalised AI concierge that helps users with tasks like relocating to a new city, selecting international roaming packs, receiving usage alerts, and completing eSIM KYC processes. Jio emphasizes that both the Call Agent and the AI concierge operate only with explicit user consent, log every action taken, and require confirmation for any payment‑related transactions. Privacy concerns have been raised about possible temporary audio storage, but Jio states that recordings are processed in real time and not retained without user permission.
