Reliance Jio to launch 'Jio Call Agent' AI voice assistant for all users
Reliance Jio chairman Akash Ambani announced a new AI voice assistant, dubbed “Jio Call Agent,” that will be built directly into the Jio network. Users will be able to activate the assistant during any phone call by saying “Hey Jio,” without needing to download a separate app or obtain a new number.
The assistant can transcribe conversations in real time, recognise up to ten speakers on conference calls, generate a summary of the call, and highlight action items and reminders. It also allows users to perform tasks such as ordering food, booking a cab, reserving a restaurant table or scheduling a meeting—all while staying on the call. The service supports all major Indian languages and is designed to work for Jio’s more than 500 million subscribers. A rollout is planned for the end of 2026, with the AI assistant becoming available nationwide.
The launch marks Jio’s effort to bring advanced AI capabilities to a broad consumer base, positioning the service as a network‑level personal AI concierge for everyday use in India.
