Religious and cultural events held in Schweinfurt and Fürth
In Schweinfurt, the St. Johannis Church will host a 'MehrWegGottesdienst' on October 18, 2026. Titled 'Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Church,' the service aims to address contemporary challenges facing the church, such as declining faith and social changes. Using the metaphor of a 'Quattro Stagioni' pizza, the event invites participants to share ideas and wishes for the future of religious life. The service will feature musical accompaniment by the band MehrBlick.
In Fürth, the evangelical Auferstehungskirche is celebrating its 200th anniversary. To mark the occasion, a four-part concert series titled 'The Queen Congratulates!' will begin on October 15. The series focuses on the church's Späth organ, featuring works by composers such as Fanny Mendelssohn, Max Reger, and Olivier Messiaen. The church, designed by architect Konrad Joseph Brüger, is the second oldest house of worship in Fürth.
