Religious anniversaries marked in Bucharest

Bucharest is hosting several religious and cultural commemorations. The Kretzulescu Church will mark its 304th anniversary on September 25 and 26, 2026, with a program including lectures, old music recitals, guided tours, and workshops focused on the site's historical and spiritual heritage.

Separately, the Romanian Orthodox Church will celebrate the 19th anniversary of Patriarch Daniel's leadership on September 30. The commemoration includes a Holy Liturgy and a Te Deum service at the Patriarchal Cathedral, followed by a festive event at the Patriarchal Palace. Patriarch Daniel, who was enthroned on September 30, 2007, has overseen major projects such as the construction of the National Cathedral and the expansion of church media and diaspora structures.
