Religious celebrations conclude in Famara and Aparecida
The Sagrado Corazón de María festivities in Famara, Lanzarote, concluded after ten days of celebrations. The event saw daily attendance of approximately 5,000 people, particularly during the peak days of Thursday and Friday. The program included a maritime-land procession and a water festival at La Caleta. Local authorities from Teguise reported a low number of incidents despite the high concentration of people in a natural environment.
In Brazil, the sixth edition of the Semana Bíblico-Mariológica took place in Aparecida from August 25 to 27. Organized by the Academia Mariana de Aparecida, the event gathered 1,800 faithful to discuss the role of the Virgin Mary in the modern Church. Discussions focused on biblical female figures, the importance of women in evangelization, and how Marian devotion can address the social fragmentation of a digitally hyperconnected society.
