Religious celebrations held in Bahia, Brazil

Religious events are taking place in the state of Bahia, Brazil. The Diocese of Camaçari is hosting the Pilgrim Image of Bom Jesus da Lapa on August 15 and 16. Led by Redemptorist Missionaries, the visit includes processions and masses in the cities of Dias d’Ávila and Camaçari to renew the faith of the local community.

In São Salvador da Bahia, a Eucharistic celebration was held at the Basilica Sanctuary of Senhor Bom Jesus do Bonfim to honor the Consecrated Religious Life. The mass also served as a thanksgiving for the 25th anniversary of the episcopal ministry of Cardinal Dom Sergio da Rocha, the Archbishop of São Salvador da Bahia and Primate of Brazil, who celebrated his Silver Jubilee on August 11.
