Religious ceremonies held in Anogia and Kokkinara

Religious services are being held in various Greek locations. In Anogia, the Holy Icon of Panagia Soumela is scheduled to be received at the Holy Church of Saint John the Baptist on Monday, October 26, 2026. The icon, which originates from the Panagia Soumela Monastery in Pontus, serves as a significant spiritual symbol for the Pontian Greek community.

In Kokkinara, an Archieratic Vespers was celebrated at the Holy Shrine of Panagia Elefteriotira for the feast of the Holy Protection of the Virgin Mary. Metropolitan Kyrillos of Kifisia presided over the service, connecting the religious feast to the national anniversary of October 28. During his sermon, he addressed the importance of preserving human values and ethics in the face of technological advancements and artificial intelligence, stating that technology should serve humanity rather than supersede it.
