Orthodox religious ceremonies held across Romania and Moldova
Various Orthodox religious ceremonies and consecrations took place across Romania and Moldova in mid-September 2026.
In Romania, several significant events occurred, including the 10th edition of the Church Rugia in Mândruloc, presided over by Archbishop Timotei of Arad. In Nețeni, a large cross—the second largest in Bistrița-Năsăud county—was consecrated. Other activities included the consecration of a summer altar in Oroftiana de Sus, the blessing of a mortuary chapel in Cristur-Șieu, and liturgical services at the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest led by Bishop Paisie Sinaitul.
In Moldova, Bishop Siluan of Orhei celebrated the Holy and Divine Liturgy at the Nativity of the Lord Metropolitan Cathedral in Chișinău, under the blessing of Metropolitan Vladimir. The services focused on the commandment of love for God and neighbor.
