Religious festivities and novenas commence across Spain and Latin America

Various religious communities across Latin America and Spain are commencing traditional novenas and patron saint festivities.

In Nasca, Peru, celebrations for the Virgen de Guadalupe have begun with various local institutions participating. In Spain, the parish of Santa María de la Mesa is joining the novena for the Virgen de Consolación in Utrera, while the Santuario de Os Milagros in Baños de Molgas hosts celebrations for Nuestra Señora de los Milagros. Additionally, the Cofradía de Dolores in Ferrol is preparing an extraordinary procession to mark 275 years of devotion. In Cantillana, the festivities for the Divina Pastora include a traditional transfer to the Risco.

In Venezuela, the Cathedral of El Tigre has started the novena for the Virgen del Valle, involving public institutions and media sectors. In Argentina, the community of Esperanza has begun its patronal festivities for the Virgen Niña, which will culminate in a procession on September 8. In Guatemala City, the Virgen de Dolores de La Recolección is scheduled for a procession through the historic center on September 5. Other regional celebrations include the festivities for the Cristo de la Misericordia in Tixkokob and the Feria in Adra, Spain, honoring the Virgen del Mar and San Nicolás de Tolentino.
