Poland Catholic parishes observe October religious observances

Various Catholic parishes and sanctuaries across Poland are observing the month of October with numerous religious activities, including Rosary prayers, liturgical celebrations, and pilgrimages.

A major upcoming event is the XXVI Pope John Paul II Day, themed ‘St. John Paul II. Disciple-Missionary’. This observance includes collections for the Dzieło Nowego Tysiąclecia foundation to support scholarships for talented, underprivileged youth. In Krakow, the Sanctuary of St. John Paul II in Białych Morzach is hosting a special program, including a pilgrimage following the footsteps of Karol Wojtyła and a mass led by Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś.

Other notable activities include the 800th anniversary of St. Francis of Assisi, celebrated through pilgrimages and reflections on peace. In the Sandomierz Diocese, the XVI Diocesan Pilgrimage of the Living Rosary Circles took place in Stalowa Wola, featuring formation conferences and a mass presided over by Bishop Krzysztof Nitkiewicz. Local parishes are also organizing youth preparation for sacraments, community meetings, and charity drives to support hospices and local church needs.
