Religious communities observe Month of Vocations in Brazil
August marks the Month of Vocations in Brazil, highlighted by religious activities and personal stories of faith. In Garibaldi, the 12th Vocational Journey took place from August 10 to 16, involving approximately 60 missionaries, including priests, friars, and religious sisters from across Rio Grande do Sul and the southern region.
The event was inspired by the 130th anniversary of the Capuchins' arrival in Rio Grande do Sul. During the week, missionaries visited 14 schools, 150 commercial establishments and industries, and various local families. The journey concluded with a large gathering featuring a procession, prayer, and community festivities.
In Brasília, the month is also reflected in the journey of Caio da Silva Ribeiro, a second-year seminarian for the Archdiocese of Brasília. After experiencing a resurgence of his childhood desire to enter the priesthood through his involvement with the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SSVP), Ribeiro is now pursuing formal religious training.
