Religious community groups conduct service programs in Italy

Various religious community groups in Italy have recently completed service-oriented programs focused on volunteerism and social connection.

In Solagna, families from Camponogara and Campoverardo participated in a summer camp held from August 7 to 12. The program, themed ‘Called by Name,’ used the figure of Mary Magdalene as a guide to explore themes of service, life experiences, and volunteering. The camp included reflections on helping others, facing illness, and involvement with Caritas, concluding with a visit to the Museum of Dreams in Feltre.

Separately, nine youths from the Santa Famiglia di Nazaret parish in Turin spent a week serving at the Villaggio della Carità in Genova Camaldoli from August 24 to 29. The participants reported that the experience challenged their initial prejudices and provided a meaningful opportunity to connect with the residents of the facility through simple presence and companionship.
