Religious devotion noted at Italian sanctuaries in Saronno and Acerenza
In Italy, various religious sites have reported events drawing significant attention from the faithful. In Saronno, Monsignor Luca Raimondi, an auxiliary bishop of Milan, made an unannounced visit to the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Miracles. During celebrations for ‘Madonna che scioglie i nodi’, the bishop observed the community's devotion, noting the beauty of the faith displayed by the pilgrims.
In Acerenza, the parish priest, Don Domenico Baccelliere, reported an unusual occurrence involving the staff of Saint Canio within the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. During closing procedures, the priest observed that the relic, which is kept behind a protective glass slit, had moved from its usual position toward the opening. Local tradition holds that the staff undergoes spontaneous movements, a phenomenon that has been documented in historical records dating back to 1779.
