Religious events and charity campaigns announced in Romania

The Archdiocese of Iași has announced a series of religious and community events scheduled for late August 2026. Metropolitan Teofan is set to lead the Holy Liturgy at the Ekklesia Chapel within the Metropolitan Ensemble in Iași. Additionally, the ‘Floare de colț’ youth camp is conducting its tenth series for children and young people.

As part of its mission, the Pro Vita Department is running a ‘Gift for Children’ campaign to support a family of eight in Botoșani county. The initiative aims to raise 20,000 lei to fund the drilling of a well and the installation of a water supply system for the family's new home, which currently faces water security challenges during cold weather.

In a separate liturgical program, the Diocese of Alexandria and Teleorman will host the right hand of Saint Basil the Great, which is being brought from Athens. The relics will be received at the Pantocrator Monastery on August 28, followed by a midnight Hierarchical Holy Liturgy. The relics will then be moved to the Episcopal Cathedral in Alexandria before returning to the Pantocrator Monastery for further veneration by the faithful.
