Religious events held in Lariano and Rome

In Lariano, residents and local authorities held a procession and mass to commemorate the 417th anniversary of the death of San Giovanni Leonardi. The event, led by Father Felix Antony, included a procession through Via Roma with participation from the mayor, local police, and civil protection. San Giovanni Leonardi, a pharmacist turned priest who founded the Order of Clerics Regular, was canonized by Pope Pius XI in 1938.

In Rome, crowds gathered at the Gemelli University Hospital to welcome Pope Leo. Supporters held vigils and prayers throughout the morning, awaiting his arrival. The Pope arrived at the hospital in a dark grey Jeep Grand Cherokee, greeted by hospital leadership and accompanied by his personal physician and members of the Pontifical House. The arrival drew significant media attention and a large presence of security forces.
