Religious events scheduled in Volos and Rodopi

In Volos, the Metropolitan Holy Church of Agios Nikolaos will host the ancient Liturgy of Saint James the Brother of the Lord on Sunday, October 25, 2026. This rare liturgical form, rooted in the tradition of the Church of Jerusalem, will take place from 07:00 to 10:30. Church officials have noted that no second liturgy will be held on that day. The same ancient liturgy will also be celebrated at the Holy Church of Agioi Anargyroi in Volos.

In Rodopi, the Association of Large Families of N. Rodopi will hold its annual artoklasia on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the Holy Church of Agia Varvara. The event will feature the unveiling of a unique icon depicting Saint Terentius, Neonilla, and their seven children, symbolizing family unity and faith. The unveiling concludes a two-year project supported by iconographer Kallidis Zafiriou.
