Religious festivities held for María Reina in Puebla and Lambaré

Religious celebrations for the feast of María Reina (Mary Queen) are taking place in different regions. In Puebla, activities include traditional morning songs, a parish meeting, and a mass for the anointing of the sick. The festivities will conclude with a solemn mass presided over by Archbishop Víctor Sánchez Espinosa.

The feast, formalized by Pope Pius XII in 1954 through the encyclical ‘Ad Caeli Reginam’, recognizes Mary as queen based on her divine motherhood and the Hebrew tradition of the ‘queen mother’.

In Lambaré, the Parroquia María Reina is observing the sixth day of its novena under the theme ‘Ensuring integral health’. The homily reflects on Mary as a mother and the ‘Health of the Sick’, referencing historical devotions such as ‘Salus Populi Romani’ in Rome and the ‘Madonna della Salute’ in Venice.
