Religious festivities held for the Assumption of Mary in Spain

Religious celebrations for the Assumption of Mary took place across various Spanish locations on August 15.

In Ciudad Rodrigo, a solemn Eucharist was held at the Cathedral of Santa María to honor the Virgin of the Assumption, the patron saint of the temple. The ceremony was led by the Vicar General of the Diocese of Ciudad Rodrigo, José María Rodríguez-Veleiro, and attended by local authorities including Mayor Marcos Iglesias.

In Ciudad Real, the Bishop of the Diocese, Abilio Martínez, officiated a mass at the Cathedral. The event coincided with celebrations for the Virgen del Prado, the city's patron saint. Miguel Ángel Valverde, President of the Diputación of Ciudad Real, attended the ceremony and participated in festivities, noting the deep connection between faith and local tradition.
