Religious groups demand recognition at Frankfurt Human Rights Forum

At the Human Rights Forum in Frankfurt, representatives from various religious and ideological groups called for greater recognition and addressed ongoing persecution.

Wahaj Bin Sajid, representing the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, highlighted the systemic legal and criminal discrimination faced by Ahmadis in Pakistan. He also noted high initial asylum rejection rates for Ahmadis by the BAMF in Germany, which are frequently overturned in court. Bin Sajid emphasized the community's social contributions in Germany while warning against rising anti-Muslim racism.

Murad Murad, chairman of the Yezidi Community of Thuringia, spoke as a survivor of the 2014 genocide committed by ISIS in Sinjar, Iraq. He reported that over 2,500 Yezidis remain missing, many mass graves have not been exhumed, and displaced persons continue to live in precarious conditions. Murad criticized the lack of reconstruction efforts in Sinjar compared to other regions in Iraq.
