Religious leaders call for peace and solidarity in Central Africa

Religious leaders in Central Africa are issuing calls for peace, security, and humanitarian solidarity amid ongoing regional instability.

In the Butembo-Beni region, Bishop Melchisédech Sikuli Paluku has urged the faithful to intensify prayers for the nation. His message comes as parts of his diocese face administration by the Front pour la Refondation de la Nation (FRN) and ongoing activity from the ADF. The Bishop called on citizens to be agents of peace and prayed for national leaders to become committed actors in restoring security.

In Zongo, South Ubangi, Helge Sven Mutschler, the world leader of the New Apostolic Church, called for the rejection of exclusion. During his first pastoral visit to Central Africa since assuming leadership in May, Mutschler emphasized the importance of welcoming the vulnerable, including the poor, the sick, displaced persons, and refugees. He advocated for dignity and compassion, urging communities to support those suffering from conflict and marginalization.
