Religious leaders emphasize faith and perseverance in homilies
Religious leaders in Bolivia and Mexico have delivered Sunday homilies focusing on the themes of faith, perseverance, and the nature of prayer during times of hardship.
In Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Auxiliary Bishop Stanislaw Dowlaszewicz reflected on the Gospel of Matthew, specifically the encounter with the Canaanite woman. He emphasized that faith is tested when God appears to remain silent, urging the faithful to remain steadfast in their relationship with Christ even when they do not understand His responses. He also cautioned against making promises to God during times of need that are not subsequently fulfilled.
In Mexico, Archbishop Óscar Roberto Domínguez Couttolenc spoke at the Basilica of Santa Maria de Guadalupe regarding the importance of spiritual and physical healing. Addressing modern challenges such as unemployment, insecurity, and family separation, he encouraged believers to maintain perseverance in prayer. He noted that while many seek immediate answers, it is essential to trust that God provides what is necessary for one's good.
