Religious leaders in Ghana call for collaboration and AI integration

During the Biannual Plenary Assembly of the Conference of Major Superiors of Religious, Ghana (CMSR-Gh) in the Diocese of Wa, leaders called for increased cooperation and the responsible use of technology.

Sr. Dr. Lucy Hometowu, President of CMSR-Gh, advocated for stronger collaboration among Christian congregations. She emphasized that pooling resources, personnel, and experiences in areas such as healthcare, education, youth empowerment, and ecological justice would allow religious orders to better address modern societal needs than working in isolation.

Archbishop Julien Kaboré, the Apostolic Nuncio in Ghana, addressed the assembly regarding the impact of artificial intelligence. He noted that while AI presents challenges to privacy, truth, and human dignity, it also offers opportunities to support education, research, and communication. He urged religious institutes to help younger generations navigate these technological shifts, distinguishing between technological efficiency and authentic human flourishing.
