Religious leadership and educational updates in Poland

In Poland, recent religious gatherings have highlighted leadership changes and educational initiatives within the Catholic and Orthodox churches.

During the 153rd Plenary Meeting of the Conference of Female Religious Congregations in Warsaw, Radosława Podgórska of the Sisters of Franciscan Servants of the Cross was elected as the new chairwoman for the 2026-2029 term. The meeting, attended by 124 sisters representing over 100 congregations, focused on the theme of discernment and decision-making. Archbishop Antonio Guido Filippazzi, the Apostolic Nuncio to Poland, attended as a special guest.

Separately, in Lublin, the Lublin-Chełm Diocese of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church held a catechetical conference for religious teachers. Led by Archbishop Abel, the event focused on the symbolism of the Cross in Orthodox catechesis, marking the 1700th anniversary of its discovery. The conference addressed the role of religious education in shaping Christian values among youth within a multicultural society.
