Religious leadership changes and visits occur in Portugal
In the Diocese of Algarve, the new bishop, D. Vitorino Soares, conducted his first official visit to the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Piedade in Loulé. During the visit, Soares expressed his intention to consecrate the entire Diocese of Algarve to the ‘Mãe Soberana’ (Sovereign Mother), emphasizing the importance of spiritual connection and maternal protection for all members of the diocese.
In the Diocese of Viseu, Bishop D. António Luciano presided over the installation of new pastoral leaders in Tondela. Father Remualdo Almeida was appointed as the Parish Priest, and Father Damião Dias was installed as the Parochial Vicar. The ceremony also recognized the service of Father Victor Portugal, a member of the Claretian Missionaries, who concluded his six-year mission in the community.
