Religious life and pro-life movements in Poland

Recent religious publications and commemorations in Poland highlight ongoing themes within the Catholic Church, ranging from pastoral guidance to the legacy of pro-life activism.

The monthly magazine ‘W drodze’ features discussions on marital happiness, the challenges of engaging youth and children within the Church, and observations on how Generation Z is finding its way to Catholicism in the United States. It also addresses the practical standards of protecting minors.

In a separate religious context, commemorations for Father Jerzy Popiełuszko have underscored the movement for the protection of unborn life. During a mass at the Church of St. Stanislaus Kostka in Żoliborzu, faithful participants performed the ‘Spiritual Adoption of the Conceived Child,’ a practice of daily prayer for threatened lives that originated in the late 1980s. This movement is linked to the legacy of Father Popiełuszko and Father Stanisław Małkowski, and was historically supported by resolutions from the Solidarity trade union.
