Religious observances and seasonal closures in Italian dioceses

The Sanctuary of the Most Holy Trinity of Vallepietra is preparing for its seasonal winter closure following the 2026 pilgrimage season. A solemn Mass presided over by Bishop Santo Marcianò is scheduled for Sunday, October 25. Additional services will be held for the Solemnity of All Saints on November 1 and the Commemoration of the Faithful Departed on November 2, after which the sanctuary will close. Due to expected crowds, shuttle services will be suspended on October 25 and November 1.

In Savona, local diocesan confraternities are observing the Ottavario, an eight-day period of prayer for the deceased. Held at the Oratory of Saints Peter and Catherine, the tradition includes daily vespers and Masses presided over by Don Giuseppe Ippolito. This year, the prayers will also extend to victims of global conflicts.
