Religious celebrations mark Nativity of Mary in Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia

Various religious communities across Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina held celebrations to mark the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary on September 8.

In Slovenia, Cardinal Rolandas Makrickas visited the Malečnik sanctuary near Maribor to bless its renovated facade. During the ceremony, the Cardinal emphasized that the renewal of the sanctuary serves as a reminder for the spiritual renewal of the Christian life.

In Saborsko, Croatia, a major ceremony commemorated the 300th anniversary of the construction and consecration of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The event included a procession and a mass led by local clergy.

In Vitina, Bishop Petar Palić presided over the feast day celebrations. The event included a blessing for the start of the new school year and a blessing for the commencement of construction on a new parish hall.
