Religious observances mark Prophet Muhammad's birthday in Yemen and Egypt

Various religious and official bodies in Yemen and Egypt are observing the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad's birth (Mawlid al-Nabi).

In Yemen, the Central Security Forces in the capital held a commemorative event. Dr. Fuad Naji, Vice President of the General Authority for Endowments and Guidance, described the occasion as a spiritual station to draw from the Prophet's biography and strengthen connection to his teachings. He emphasized the importance of following the Prophet's path and expressed opposition to cultural influences that seek to distance the nation from its religious identity.

In Egypt, Dar al-Ifta al-Misriyyah issued guidance regarding the observance, stating that the anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the mercy the Prophet brought to humanity. The institution noted that celebrating the birth is an act of devotion and an expression of love for the Prophet, which is a fundamental aspect of faith. The Dar emphasized that true devotion should be manifested through obedience to religious principles, good character, and following the Prophet's guidance in daily life.
