Religious observances reported in Muhalkalan and Jhansi
In Muhalkalan, religious celebrations for Navratri concluded with nine days of prayer and devotion. Devotees gathered at the temple to worship the nine forms of Goddess Durga, seeking prosperity and happiness. The festivities culminated in a large-scale communal feast, or bhandara, where a significant number of worshippers from surrounding areas gathered to receive prasad.
In Jhansi, the Lodhi Mata Temple continues to draw devotees due to unique local traditions. According to temple priest Vijay Kumar Mahour, worshippers visit the shrine to pray for health and family well-being. A common practice involves offering bells of varying weights, ranging from one kilogram to several kilograms, as an act of gratitude once a wish or prayer is fulfilled. Some devotees also offer silver covers as offerings.
