Religious organizations in Romania mark significant anniversaries

Various religious organizations in Romania are marking significant anniversaries. The Betania Baptist Church in Bucharest is celebrating 170 years of Baptist faith in the country, tracing its roots back to the arrival of Karl Johann Scharschmidt in 1856. While the Betania church officially constituted itself in 1866, it is recognized as the first Baptist church in Romania.

Additionally, the Youth Association of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Romania (Jugendwerk Rumänien) is celebrating 20 years of activity. An anniversary event is scheduled for October 3, 2026, in Cincșor, Transylvania. The program includes a church service, a retrospective on the association's development, creative workshops, and a concert by the band Jugendwerk.
